About Dish With Clarissa

Clarissa Cordero grew up learning to cook with her mom. In a time where traditional home-cooked food was going out of style, Clarissa learned to love and make those simple 'comfort foods' and family favorites. As she grew - and her mom got busier with long work hours, Clarissa supported her mom by taking over most of the cooking duties around the home. By the time Clarissa started high school - she had absorbed her mother's approach to traditional, homestyle Italian dishes; and thanks to So Cal's great weather year round... a love of cooking on the grill. Fast forward 30 years and Clarissa has never stopped cooking. She continued to explore food, learning more from So Cal's amazing cultural variety, trying things out on her family and her friends... and always learning. Never content to merely cook a good meal, Clarissa developed the habit of talking sharing her ideas with family, friends and coworkers. After a lifetime of learning and experimenting, Clarissa's love affair with traditional Italian cooking, and 'comfort foods' has grown into a robust, creative and cross-cultural approach to cooking that still manages to remain 'accessible' to the rest of us. Now Clarissa brings her experience and her approach online through her blog - giving all of us a chance give ourselves, our friends and our family the benefits of a lifetime of passion and joy in cooking simply great meals.

  2. Well I chose you along with other bloggers based on “Inspiration” . Your site is so beautiful with amazing photo’s and stories that gives your readers a glimpse of you.
I wanted to give back what you have given to me and many others!
    Cheers! “clink’

  3. Thank you for your kindness. And congrats to you as well. Here’s hoping there are many more exciting surprises in store for you this year! Cheers :)

  4. *Giggle* this was supposed to be my month for honoring…

Eventually I am going to make an Awards page. As the gemstonepages blog connects to another site I don’t want to take up space there. You are so very correct with the internet being a wonderful place of connections. I started out about two years ago just writing and sharing small verse, added a long verse, story verse and fiction blogs.

And I have expanded to enjoy many adventures with photos, food, and travel. Thank you for sharing a path together.

    Continued success and peace, Jules

    • Thank you Jules, I really am so humbled and glad to share this with so many wonderful people. I started out looking at other food pages and found I really enjoy reading bits of everyone and their likes. Being here has cured me from way too much facebook. I really love being here.
I wish you the same with your writing, I really enjoy it so much., Clarissa

  6. Mmmmm, Pacific Coast Highway. I am totally California dreaming! (And it is sooo such a winter’s day here, like, I can see a snow storm out the window right now!)

  7. Hey I love the new look of your blog! It looks gorgeous. And thanks for the shout out!

    • Teresa,
You are so welcome my dear. When I was notified late yesterday I made a solid commitment not to let another of these pass by. They really mean a lot because its coming from my peers, and the only way to give back the support and kindness I have received from all of you, is to return it from my heart. And I wanted you to know how much it all means to me.
I’m glad you like the new look, i’m playing around with the idea of changing the background by Holiday or seasons. I have a background that I think was taken in some part of Italy. .

  8. Thanks for including me on your list! I’m very flattered. I enjoy keeping up with your posts. Cheers!
