  1. Holy fish. I like Halibut. I am an east coaster so haddock, bass and salmon are my faves.

      • Yes it is hard to get fresh fish here. You order fish and chips in Alberta and ask what kind of fish it is and the reply is “white fish” Ok what kind of white fish? Just white fish! I wanted fish and chips at a restaurant once the waiter replied that he thought it was salmon. I said not likely pls ask the kitchen. He said no I am pretty sure it’s salmon. I don’t know anyone who batters and deep fries a gorgeous pc of salmon. Turns out it was cod!!

  3. The best Beer Batter for deep frying. Mix 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon season salt, 1 can (12 ounce) beer, more or less to make batter the consistency of cream. Cut fish into 1 inch thick strips, dip in flour or cornstarch, dip in batter and drop into hot oil. As soon as it floats, remove it from the hot oil.
